What We Do

Sharing the Gospel Mariachi-Style

YLM’s Adelante Ministries uses music to reach communities, unite believers and cultivate faith with the Gospel. Through Mariachi San Pablo—the world’s only Lutheran mariachi band—we share Christ’s love locally and across the U.S. and Mexico, blending hymns, contemporary Christian songs, and mariachi classics to inspire and uplift people of all backgrounds.

Music in Worship

Through music, we glorify God and unite hearts in faith—enriching worship in our partnering churches. Our music ministry joins congregations in services, where communities are invited to join in worship, and creates spaces where all can experience the joy and presence of God. 

  • Join congregations for special Worship services, offering a vibrant and joyful musical experience through the mariachi arrangement of familiar hymns and praise songs in English and Spanish
  • Assist congregations with Hispanic Ministry by providing needed resources developed by Adelante Ministries, including but not limited to instrumental recordings of liturgy in English and Spanish
  • Develop mariachi-style arrangements of well-known hymns and praise songs for the purpose of presenting, performing, and sharing with congregations

Equipping Musicians

We mentor youth and local musicians to grow their God-given gifts and lead others in joyful praise. From mastering instruments to refining vocal skills, we invest in raising up the next generation of passionate, faith-filled servant leaders. 

  • Ten-week Spring and Fall music class sessions for students of all ages
  • Weekly rehearsals for Mariachi San Pablo members to hone their skills
  • Opportunities to perform in support of outreach and evangelism of churches, locally and out-of-state

Healing Through Song

Mariachi music becomes a vessel of healing and hope, lifting hurting hearts, bridging cultures, and uniting believers in worship. Its joyful sounds carry the message of Christ’s love to places where hope feels distant, reminding all who hear it they are seen, valued, and loved. 

  • Restoring joy in dark places, by bringing the Good News into the El Paso Immigration Detention Center, as well as other spaces of deep pain
  • Building bridges across cultures and generations by connecting people of every background and age through the shared language of music and faith
  • Uniting believers in worship by drawing hearts together in praise to the Triune God

Music Outreach

Music opens doors for outreach, bringing the hope of Christ to communities through the joyful sound of mariachi. Adelante Ministries equips and supports churches in the use of music as a powerful tool for connection and ministry. 

  • Music intensives are available for churches wanting to train members interested in learning mariachi-style music to serve in worship and outreach
  • Music resources and guidance to help churches engage their communities through music are provided
  • Work side by side with churches to share Christ’s love through the beauty of mariachi-style music
