The Servant Event program at YLM opens the door to an exciting opportunity to serve God and others in an international mission setting. Churches, youth, and family groups can stay in our on-campus dorms in El Paso, serving locally and crossing the border each day to share Christ’s love at one or more of our three mission sites in Juarez. Teams can also serve in the Sparks, Agua Dulce, or Horizon City colonias just outside El Paso if they desire to remain stateside. These mission trips are vital to YLM’s work—supporting ministries through home construction, mission maintenance, Christian education, evangelism, and more—while transforming lives, both in the community and within each servant’s heart.
The goal of every YLM Servant Event Mission Team is to love and serve God and others! YLM’s Servant Event Facilitators will work with your team to plan a project that matches your team’s abilities, skills, and desire to serve with the needs of YLM’s partnering mission-churches and their communities.
The needs of the people in El Paso and Mexico are greatly varied. Servant Event Mission Teams help fill people’s material, as well as spiritual, voids by building and/or repairing homes, distributing needed resources, and conducting medical, dental, and eyeglass clinics in extremely impoverished areas. They have also served by providing opportunities for sewing lessons, haircuts, massages, manicures, and health checks.
Every year, Servant Event Mission Teams organize and lead ministries designed to educate and strengthen communities by working alongside partnering missions and churches, which help host Vacation Bible School, Sports and Bible Camps, Women’s Ministry, as well as do Bible distributions on both sides of the border, inviting people to hear the Good News.
Church Maintenance/Improvement
Among all of the mission sites YLM serves, and the 4.2 acre campus of YLM in El Paso, there are always facilities needing minor and major repairs, clean-ups, and other maintenance projects. When Servant Event Mission Teams ensure our partnering mission-churches have functioning plumbing and electricity, roofs without leaks, solid floors and walls and other such needs, our on-the-ground missionaries can reach out to more people with ease
Eyeglass/Water/Medical Clinics
We partner with MOST Ministries, whose experienced mission leaders guide teams in offering clinics such as Eyeglass, Medical, and Water/Hygiene Clinics, combining the love of the Gospel with care for those lacking basic health services.
We also engage medically trained individuals to provide specialized care—such as Foot Care, Women’s Health, and Dental Clinics—in Juarez communities where medical services and health education are scarce.
We are flexible! Servant Event Mission Teams are also able to divide their time and the people of their team to work on more than one type of project!
